The Day Prayer Moved Me

God has truly been faithful! From May 30 to June 2, 2025, pastoral care groups from across Alberta, B.C., and Saskatchewan gathered for the PPM Summit at The King’s University in Edmonton, Alberta. It was a powerful time of unity, worship, and encouragement as we stood together in prayer. What a blessing to see God’s people, spread across three provinces, united in faith!

The summit’s ultimate purpose was to strengthen each delegate’s prayer life, explore the different types of intercessors, and deepen our practice of praying in the Spirit. Centered on the theme “Prayer Matters” and guided by Ephesians 6:18, “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people,” the summit invited everyone to focus deeply on every aspect of prayer and its vital role in our walk with God.

From Friday afternoon to Monday noon, the PPM Summit was unmistakably Spirit-filled. Our Senior Pastor Aldrin Navo opened the first general session with a thought-provoking question: “When does prayer truly matter the most?” The question stirred reflection in all of us. After each session, he ministered to us, led by the power and prompting of the Holy Spirit.

Meaningful group discussions followed every teaching, helping us connect personally with what we heard. Seminars led by Pastor Amy Perez, Pastor Mary Juarana, Pastor Letty Biscaro, and Pastor Edith Catayong were all rooted in Ephesians 6:18, guiding us to live out every part of the verse in daily life. Worship times overflowed with praise, dancing, and joy that left us breathless – in the best way. Even the moments in between – team-building activities, shared meals, and countless prayers for one another – were life-changing. Every part of the weekend was saturated with God’s presence and grace.

Throughout the summit, we heard powerful testimonies from men and women alike, across generations, each with unique stories and circumstances. Every testimony was a blessing, offering yet another reason to praise God for His faithfulness and power. Through their stories, we saw God restore relationships, heal wounded hearts, cure sicknesses, shift perspectives, and become the eternal anchor of many lives. The Lord uplifted His people, and we witnessed firsthand that miracles still happen today.

During ministry and prayer times, Pastor Aldrin encouraged us to speak to one another, even to those we didn’t know, and to let the Spirit lead. And the Spirit truly did. Prayer warriors moved with boldness, praying fervently, speaking in tongues, and interceding with fiery compassion.

Personally, I was deeply blessed when a woman from another PCG, someone I didn’t know, approached me and prayed over me and my fellow youth and young adults. She shared that the Lord had impressed upon her heart to encourage me to keep going in my faith.

I had come to the summit hesitant, asking myself, “Is my heart ready? Am I spiritually prepared? Does the Lord really know me?” I felt lukewarm, as if my faith had become routine. Yet amid the summit, the Lord spoke so clearly: “Anak, I know you by name. I have seen everything you’ve been through. As long as you abide in Me, I will uphold you and give you strength.” In that moment, I realized how powerful prayer and encouragement truly are.

Everyone longs to be prayed for and to be seen, and as intercessors, that is our calling. Over the weekend, many delegates and I experienced the joy, unity, and overwhelming presence of the Holy Spirit moving among us. It is something I will never forget.

The summit reaffirmed God’s faithfulness. From testimonies to worship, teaching, and prayer, the Holy Spirit was clearly at work. As we return to our local churches and ministries across Alberta, B.C., and Saskatchewan, we carry not just memories but renewed hearts, deeper faith, and greater passion for intercession. We eagerly await the fruit of this gathering to take root in our churches and communities.

To God be all the glory!
